1937-D 3-Legged Buffalo Nickel for Sale
In 1937, a reverse die was used at the Denver Mint. The reverse die was resurfaced in an area using an emery stick, removing a foreleg of the Buffalo image, resulting the Buffalo having three legs instead of four on the Nickels minted that year. This is how the famous 1937 3-Legged" Buffalo Nickels were created. And this is probably the most widely known error coin in history.
Because of the rarity of this coin, 1937-D 3-Legged Buffalo Nickel has become the favorite Buffalo Nickel among collectors today.
